KAIST students may earn a minor and fulfill a key KAIST degree requirement by studying away at NYU and completing the published requirements of an approved
NYU minor.
Students may complete these requirements by combining approved equivalent courses taken at KAIST (before coming to NYU) with courses taken at NYU.
For each minor, a specified minimum number of credits must be earned at NYU (typically 8, but the number can vary).
In general, KAIST students spending a semester at NYU who choose to pursue a KAIST NYU minor will take 8 to 9 credits toward the minor while at NYU, leaving room
to take an additional 6 to 8 credits in any available classes that are of interest to them.
Courses required for a student's major at KAIST generally cannot be used to fulfill NYU minor requirements.
Students will receive an NYU transcript but not an NYU diploma or degree. KAIST will award the degree and reflect the student's completion of a KAIST NYU minor on
the KAIST diploma.
As of Fall 2023, all of the KAIST NYU minors available fall under the Tandon School of Engineering.
